The Vision Behind Mission is the Passion of legacy!

Company History

Honey Locust has a remarkable history and vision behind this company. Our journey is one deeply rooted in passion, legacy, and a steadfast commitment to excellence within the agricultural, transportation and logistics industries.

The driving force behind our mission is encapsulated in the phrase: "The Vision Behind Mission is the Passion of Legacy." It is this ethos that has propelled our growth from modest beginnings to becoming an esteemed farm-to-fork operation.

Honey Locust Farms was founded in 1995 by Tom Bross, affectionately known as “Tiddle,” initially as an agricultural hauling service supporting his family’s turkey business along with neighbouring farmers. Over the ensuing years, our capabilities expanded significantly:

- In 1999, we commenced hauling livestock with a modest fleet of two trucks, servicing routes to Smithfield, Virginia.

- By the end of 2005, this had grown to twelve trucks devoted to our livestock hauling operations.

- The year 2009 marked the commencement of our refrigerated food transportation, alongside existing dry van services. This diversification led to a sizeable fleet of approximately 60 trucks by 2014.

- 2015 saw the inception of Round Hill Logistics under the leadership of Nick Wentz. This full-service logistics division was established with a clear purpose – to aid owner-operators and small enterprises in accessing comprehensive dispatch services and benefiting from fuel and insurance discounts traditionally reserved for major corporations. This strategic development aligned with changing industry requirements and the acquisition of vital software, enabling us to optimise operations effectively.

To better cater to our clients’ needs, Honey Locust Farms transitioned into three specialized divisions:

1. The Final Mile Division offers regional and over-the-road drivers opportunities for increased mileage by managing the final delivery legs through a drop trailer program.

2. The second division comprises specialized drivers focused on just-in-time deliveries to the Northeast and metropolitan centres, maintaining close customer relationships to bolster client sales.

3. The Regional and Over-the-Road Division is dedicated to delivering time-sensitive shipments across the contiguous United States (Lower 48), upholding our core principle of fostering genuinely special relationships with both employees and customers.

Our company timeline reflects a story of perseverance and adaptability:

- 1995: Establishment of the company by Tom Bross “Tiddle.”

- 1999–2005: Expansion from two to twelve trucks hauling livestock.

- 2009: Diversification into refrigerated food transport.

- 2014–2015: Fleet grows to 65 trucks; Round Hill Logistics established.

- 2016: Major technological improvements and leadership transition; Nick Wentz appointed CEO/CVO, Eric Krenzer as CFO and Managing Member, while Tom Bross "Tiddle" transitioned to a board position and took over his dad's business Winter Gardens Food.

- 2017–2019: Strategic refocus on niche dedicated-type operations, adoption of Kenworth trucks, and utilization of Utility trailers.

- 2020: Continued growth with recruitment of long-term driving and office personnel; appointment of Joe Kemprowski as VP/CBO of Round Hill Logistics.

- 2025: The passing of our esteemed founder, Tom Bross “Tiddle,” a poignant moment marking the continuation of his enduring legacy.

-2025: Bill Landis joined the company to help with the transition and with his Godly character he helped develop a foot print that pushed us into 2026.  Without his guidance and friendship during this difficult time the outlook was dark.

- 2026: As we went into 2026, we are honoured to announce that Nick long time CEO and mentor and his wife Jayme Wentz assumed complete ownership of Honey Locust Farms and Round Hill Logistics. This transition represents a continuation of the family legacy and aligns with their broader portfolio of Kingdom-based companies. We are confident that under their stewardship, the company’s long-term vision and mission will be strengthened, ensuring continued growth and service excellence for generations to come based on their belief of Luke 16:11.

It is with immense pride and gratitude that we reflect on these milestones, each underscoring our dedication to quality, customer service, and innovation. The values set forth by our founder continue to inspire the company’s evolution and pursuit of logistical excellence.
