Company History
Honey Locust Farms is known for being a farm to fork operation. In 1995, the company began as an agriculture hauler for the family business and other farmers around us. By 1999, we entered into hauling livestock with two trucks and by the end of 2005 we had 12 trucks hauling dedicated business. By late 2009, we started the expansion into refrigerated foods and, after 6 short years, we hit 60 trucks. In 2015, we began the full-service logistics program of the company called Round Hill Logistics led by Nick Wentz.
This company was built to assist owner operators and smaller companies to have access to a full dispatch service plus fuel/ insurance discounts that only come with big companies. In 2015, with things changing in the industry and the purchase of a key software program, we had the vital information needed to adjust the operation and total company trucks. During this transformation, we transitioned into 3 divisions to better serve our customers and clients.
The final mile division gives the regional and over the road drivers the opportunity to gain more miles by completing the final leg of the run and utilizing a drop trailer program for our customers. The second division, very much like the beginning of our company, became a group of specialized drivers that run just in time deliveries into the northeast and cities.
Their dedication is driven highly on customer satisfaction and getting to know the customers to increase sales for our client. The regional and over the road division is dedicated to reaching the lower 48 states with the most time sensitive shipments for our customers. With the foundation of the core principles, you feel that the relationship is genuinely special whether you're an employee or customer.
