We at HLF are committed to ensuring safety not only in our work facilities but also on the roads. We give security awareness training to all drivers and are compliant with CTPAT certification requirements at all our facilities.

SAFER System Rating
Pursuant to the FAST Act of 2015, certain information previously available on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Safety Measurement System (SMS) Website related to property carrier’s compliance and safety performance is no longer available for public display. Property carrier data available to the public includes inspection and crash data, investigation results, and measures for all public Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs), however, the Crash Indicator and Hazardous Materials Compliance BASICs remain hidden from public view. Measures are generated directly from safety data and not based on relative comparison to other motor carriers.
All information on passenger carriers remains available to the public.

SmartWay
At HLF, we believe strongly in being good corporate citizens and good stewards of the environment. We have a long-standing commitment to improving the environmental performance of our freight operators. That’s why we’ve been a SmartWay® Transport Partner since December of 2003. SmartWay® is an EPA program that reduces transportation-related emissions by creating incentives to improve supply chain fuel efficiency. Idle Management & Reduction – tractors are equipped with an idle management features. These features reduce overall emission levels.

Remote Refrigeration Control – Trailers maintain required temperatures without running continuously, except when necessary. This reduces overall emission levels. Tractor Aerodynamics is an investment in both “Flow Below” and “Halo” technologies designed to reduce fuel usage by increasing MPG efficiency. Trailer Aerodynamics – New reefer trailers have trailer skirts and tail fins to reduce wind resistance leading to decreased fuel consumption. Tire Inflation Management – All new equipment additions have automatic air inflation systems to monitor and correctly inflate tires on both tractors and trailers. This reduces the amount of tire waste. TAT educates, equips, empowers and mobilizes the transportation and travel plaza industries on the realities of human trafficking and how they can combat it.

We use Motive as the ELD provider.  With the technolgy that they offer we are able to maintain and control breakdowns.  This system also provides drivers with the knowledge of FMCSA and gives the driver control of pre and post trip inspections.
